Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
Information We Collect
Calculator Data
All calculations are performed locally in your browser. We do not store your recipes or calculator settings on our servers. The analytics described below record a few general choices, such as the pizza style you select, whether a pre-ferment is turned on, and whether amounts are shown in grams or ounces.
Local Storage
We use your browser's localStorage to save preferences like:
- Unit preference (grams/ounces)
- Whether you have closed the analytics notice
- Emergency timer state
This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. The analytics identifier described below is also kept in localStorage, but it is sent with analytics data.
Email Newsletter
If you sign up for the newsletter, your email address and the time you agreed to receive emails are sent through n8n, an automation service. n8n adds them to a Google Sheet the site owner keeps, and to Kit, the email service used to send the newsletter. The sign-up form below the calculator also sends the name of the pizza style you had selected. We use your address only for pizza tips and site updates.
Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email [email protected] to be removed from both the mailing list and the spreadsheet.
Data retention: Email addresses are kept until you ask for them to be removed.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how the site is used. PostHog does not set cookies on this site. It keeps one randomly generated identifier in your browser's localStorage, so the pages you view are counted as one visitor instead of a new visitor on every page. The identifier stays until you clear your browser's data for this site, so a later visit from the same browser is recognized too.
PostHog records:
- Pages viewed and the page you arrived from
- Actions on the site, such as copying, printing, or sharing a recipe, the pizza style selected, and clicks on equipment links
- Recordings of how pages are used, such as scrolling and clicks. Everything typed into form fields is hidden in these recordings. Text shown on the page, including calculated recipe amounts, is visible.
- Reports of script errors, so we can find and fix problems
- Browser type, device type, screen size, and an approximate location based on your IP address
Analytics does not collect your name or email address. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, analytics does not load.
Cookies and Local Storage
This site does not use cookies for analytics or advertising. The table below lists what the site keeps in your browser's localStorage.

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
